Bulk Connection, Inc. (BCI) specializes in providing transportation services for liquid/dry bulk, truckload and LTL shippers nationwide. Founded in 1987 and headquartered in Mystic, CT, BCI was established to offer quality cost competitive liquid and dry bulk transportation service to both the chemical and paper industries. We provided an alternative to those shippers who were accustomed to working with an established carrier base but were looking to increase efficiency and thus trim costs from their traffic budget.

Our principals, management team and staff are transportation professionals. They are experienced, talented individuals whose backgrounds cover the spectrum of third party logistics. This broad base of operational, regulatory and administrative experience contributes directly in creating and managing logistics programs that effectively assist our customers in achieving the results necessary to retain their competitive edge.

In 1992, impressed with the service that they were receiving, many of our bulk customers requested that we handle their dry van and LTL shipments as well. BCI hired seasoned professionals for truckload freight and developed partnerships with some of the best carriers in the nation. We wanted to offer the same commitment to our customers for their dry goods as we had with their bulk shipments. The dry van division has been a tremendous success. Recognizing the transportation needs of our customers, we have also established strategic alliances with airfreight, intermodal and international freight organizations.

Over the years we have been a resource for many companies both as their primary provider and when emergencies occur. Our operation professionals have answered the call to assist shippers during rail interruptions, barge interruptions, labor disputes, critical campaigns and weather-related problems. Through our network of carrier partners, we have used our ability to mobilize and coordinate large numbers of equipment to help our customers get the job done on time and in budget.

As we look ahead, in our continuing commitment to provide the best service available, we have earned ISO 9001:2000 registration, the international quality standard. This is just one of many management tools that we employ to ensure that the services that we provide will be to our customers total satisfaction. All vendor partners are monitored and rated. All supporting documentation is maintained and coupled with our own contingency insurance policies. This allows our customers to concentrate on their core business, not transportation concerns.

BCI has a unique place in the market due to its in depth knowledge of our industry. We have developed a network of hundreds of vendor partners that allow us to offer services nationwide. We have assisted many of our customers in increasing their bottom line by broadening market penetration, reducing inventory and lowering operational costs.
